In regards to your dc7900 driver solutions: I tried this as well on Windows 7 Enterprise, but I am getting an error saying that the OS is not supported from the driver installer.
Do you have a work around?
Hi, my HP model are dc7700 not dc7900. Possible solution will be running the installation in compatibilities mode. Right click on the setup file, select Properties. In the Compatibility tab choose Windows VISTA. Let me know if this work. :-)
Expand the exe and then through device manager update the driver
C:\swsetup\SP34743
(include sub folders

After running the Driver in Compatibility Mode the PCI Serial Port Driver issue is now history!!!
Thanks very much for your help ;-)
Thanks for the information on fixing the missing drivers.
I was wondering if you are having any issues with the dc7700 running Win7?
I just did our first of many dc7700 to Win7 (64-bit) and the user seems to be having a number of issues. A reboot clears them up for a day or two but then the system needs to be rebooted again.
Thank you! Thank you! I followed your instructions for PCI Simple Communications Controller error on dc7700 win 7...I have been working on this for days...its gone! Now off to Vista to fix it there.
